  • JAROSLAV JURICA
JAROSLAV JURICA Czech Republic I deal with different spheres of the discipline generally called design. I focus on searching for a peculiar expression of every single artefact, no matter if it is a package, a product or a particular space... In 2007, I was awarded Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship for Master´s degree at the School of Industrial Design in Lund in Sweden, where I graduated in 2009. In 2008, I did an internship in Demakersvan | Dutch design house where I was subsequently in charge of designing a product from the stage of invention to realization. Later, the same year I was chosen to participate in the S.T.A.R. design program in cooperation with NASA in Houston, organized by Lund University of Technology in Sweden. In 2010, I also graduated from sculpture studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno where I could enrich my profession from a different perspective. As a freelancer, I cooperate with different clients in wide range of businesses where I could bring some of my designs to the production stage, especially street furniture, interior accessories or packaging. y9QoOe960xo /pdf/portfolio/CZ_jurica_jaroslav.pdf
  • SEBASTIAN HERKNER
SEBASTIAN HERKNER Germany There is a sensitivity and identity to my work that emphasizes the function, the material and the detail. I transport and interpret characteristics from various contexts of society and culture and implement them in new artifacts. This character infuses the most everyday objects with respect and personality. In this manner, seemingly contrary things can experience esteem. I am not so much influenced by trends or current consumer criteria, because what interests me is a collage of simple techniques and traditional materials coupled with a simple mechanical principle and an unambiguous function. My idea of sustainability consists of employing traditional manufacturing techniques and their unique character. I then combine and interpret this by employing new technologies and finishing methods. Sebastian Herkner, born 1981, studied Product Design at Offenbach Design Academy. During his studies he did an internship at Stella McCartney in London and developed a particular liking there for color, material and their connection. Since graduating from Offenbach in 2007 he has worked as assistant in the Product Design faculty and is in charge of projects in the realm of integrated design. As early as 2006 Sebastian Herkner established his own studio and has since then been involved in freelance projects for various companies and institutes. /pdf/portfolio/Sebastian_Herkner.pdf
